Started a trailer mounted BBQ pit build.

It will have a 82" x 30" dia cooking chamber and a 30"X28"X23" fire box.

Some pictures of the progress...

Fine looking cooker going on there! Very Happy Great choice on the light bracket. Yessir, also a pet peeve of mine. Considering mobile cookers at times go to places worthy of an off road expo, at least you know you and the cooker will get home safe and legal. You can always buy the neighbor a new mailbox but at least the lights will work after you back into it. Wink For sure, bulletproof the wiring harness as well. ( see off road expo) A torn wiring harness dims the lights about as well as bashing them. look forward to the rest of the build. Cool

I was thinking about some tubing welded to the underside Of the trailer to run the wires through...just not sure how much. Several small pieces just to hold it up, or all of it inside tubing?

I would run as much and long as possible. If you have to stop short to get around the axle. etc., so be it. I have also seen holes blown in the frame rails to route the conduit through. As I mentioned, bulletproof as best you can, a bit of a pain to have to rerun the wiring later and not knowing where you are located but in my case, sometimes the only path available is straddleover a thorny Mesquite bush rather than run my tires over it and presto...the wiring is no mas. One last thought...I have also avoided the floppy end dangling from the tongue by routing it through some pvc tubing / seal tight as it exits the tongue and securing it with a one hole ( emt conduit) strap to the frame. Not necessary but it sure cleans up that end and looks cool. Cool Too nice of a build you have going not to do the finer points IMHO. Good luck.

sjstretch, your cooker is looking good. Very Happy

I like like the light boxes also. Cool You may be able to use steel brake line to sleeve your wiring harness.

Good luck with your project. Very Happy

Added some safety hooks to the door and air vent slider.

Made it a two door...lol

This is all the doors moved after cutting them out. It is a little more than a 1/16" (looks like more in the picture). I am very excited about how this turned out. I was worried about having to get the chains, jacks and 4x4's out.

sjstretch, the project is looking good. You might want to consider some counter weights on the doors. When I built mine at first I never had the counter weights on and what a difference the weight made. looking good.
