I went out of town to attend a couple of Competition classes and sample BBQ on the way this week. It is most interesting to learn how BBQ is cooked by some of the folks who are winning. Always nice to check out successful BBQ joints around the country as well. I am always interested in seeing what makes others successful and re-evaluating my program to make things better here. There are a ton of good ideas out there. I will never stop improving my business. Sorry I missed you SoEzzy in Utah I had to get to my 2nd class. _________________ The lessons are in the customer's criticism. They aren't always right. The rewards are their satisfaction. |

That sounds great! I would love to do something like that. Doing a BBQ tour of the south during the Michigan winter months would be awesome. _________________ Alan

I'm sorry too.
By the time I arrived Friday evening you and most of the class were long gone!
Had great fun at the competition and I learned a whole lot too!
If you have the time next year come on out and cook the competition, get us a list of what you want and need and we'll try and accommodate you, if you choose not to bring it all with you! _________________ Here's a change Robert.

I went to two classes last week. Johnny Trigg's in Utah and Rod Gray's in KC. I didn't realize they did classes for a time together. All was good, although they both use Jambo pits and cook at the same temp, there were enough variations to give me sufficient ideas at each to make them worth while. I also won enough at the casino to pay for both hotel rooms and food for the trip. I don't watch TV and have only seen some of the old Pit Masters shows on Youtube so I had no idea that Rod was in the hunt for the big prize until he mentioned it in class. He could not reveal the results and I was happy to see he won. I'm guessing he is using the proceeds to launch is rub and sauce line. _________________ The lessons are in the customer's criticism.
