Did a couple racks of baby back ribs up for dinner tonight.I rinsed and removed the membrane.
I brushed with EVOO and applied a good coat of Lamberts Sweet Rub O Mine.
I fired up the BGE with Dragons Breath lump and a few blocks of Apple for some smoke.I cooked these for 4 hours at 250 degrees.
I spritzed with apple juice in the second hour and brushed them with Sweet Chilli BBQ sauce in the last half hour of cooking.
They turned out great, here's a couple pics.

2 hours in.

4 hours in...done

Sauced in the last half hour

Not a real noticeable smoke ring on the ribs...I don't like to pound my ribs with a ton of smoke....I save that for big cuts like butts and briskets.

The smoke ring missin probably wasn't the first thing I noticed, I just think they look pretty dang good!! Some people don't like a lot of smoke, as long as they are good, more power to ya brother man. Looks like they would eat to me.

It all looks good to me CB.. Right down to the plate up..

I have noticed that I dont get a lot of ring on ribs with the Akorn.. Full flavour but skimpy on the ring.

Nice job.

+1 on the missing smoke ring with the Primo(same idea as yours and Rox's). But what ever, it looks damn good and I bet it tasted pretty fair as well. Smile

Hey bud. How dare you not put a smoke ring on. All ringers will be laughing at you. Twisted Evil You know what? Who cares about the smoke ring. I've had your ribs and they are more than fine. I'm just finishing up that rub and I really enjoyed it. One more thing. Did you dunk those ribs in rum before chowing down? Laughing Twisted Evil Laughing Good stuff man. Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks chaney1320I tend to like light smoke on my ribs.

Thanks roxy....I only used three small blocks of Apple...I really like to get the full taste of my rub on less meatier cuts like baby backs....no problem getting a ring
when I do a brisket on the egg...but I do go a little heavier on the wood as well.

Thanks for looking GF Very Happy

Thanks for looking sparks58

Thanks Mr Skewer.....I should look into some kind of rum bbq sauce. Very Happy Very Happy......this one looks good.

Great lookin' ribs CB!

I've seen that rub for sale somewhere here (I think Lowes), but I haven't tried it yet. Looks like I'll need to pick some up!

CB those are some fine looking BB's you turned out. Great looking plate up for some summertime ribs.

I know what you mean on the smoke. I still love me some ribs off the stickburner but sometimes I come home and stick a slab or two on the ceramic or the large kettle and put very little smoke on them.....just let them work their own magic with the lump. Inevitably, I will come in and knock out most of a slab on my own.

Good job on those ribs....got me thinking about going down to the freezer!!
