finished this thing up. a shelf would be nice but i got in a hurry to get thing out in the yard and get some cooks on it.
i've got a long extension cord i can swap plugs on and the welder i have has a detachable wire feeder so i can get out there to weld on it some still...
i opted not to paint it...i just rubbed it with vegetable oil...
seems happy to run 250-260, starts to eat alot of wood to get it much hotter than that, had it up to 420*F when i burned it in.
cooked an awesome pork butt the other day. excellent flavor. i need to get a big stash of wood now.
that little white wire is for an electronic thermometer, seems once the temps even out, the tel tru gauges in my door measure exactly what the grate temps are...so that nice.
