I trying to find a volume supplier of bone in chicken wings. Is there a key word to do a search?what would they be called?I know I can order from sysco and sams, but my sysco rep is a waste of space.and sams is 180 miles round trip.I expect to go though about 1000-1500 lbs of wings this season.

Is Sysco and Sam's your only option in your area? No GFS or US Foods etc. A good sales rep is quite helpful...

I would try to fins them in your sysco system, then just tell your rep what you want! Fresh Whole Jumbo Wings would most likely be close....I no longer use sysco for same reason, and know their system is goofy to say the least....but also know you can get a great deal if you buy them, or about any once fresh meats, frozen from them! If your gonna need that many wings, I would at least give frozen units a try!!!

Fresh or Frozen??

When I used to do fried wings years ago, I liked the Tyson IQF 1st & 2nd Joint.

They were 5#bags, they went from freezer to fryer naked, and they were good, no screwing around with raw chicken mung waiting to contaminate surfaces.

I can look for a Sysco item number of you'd like.
For that volume, I'd call Tyson Direct and see what they can do for you.
Or if they can suggest a local supplier to you

The problem with wings here is it is hard to compete with the chains who get such a volume discount that you can sell um at a price that will bring folks across the street, no matter how good they are. I did see B-dubs has lowered their standards and change their menu structure to try and be more profitable. you can buy a leg for the same price as a wing. You gotta have more than Sysco coming out of Fargo
