Well its getting real close to starting the germination process for
all my hot peppers(March 16th).....just finished racking my brain on what peppers to plant with the space that I have...
I am going with 13 different varieties at the moment.....most are for my 5 gallon pails.....I will add a few more sweet peppers for in the garden itself.

The bulk of my peppers are all some if not most of the hottest varieties available. Laughing Laughing This years Devils Dust should be even hotter. Laughing

Three of the hottest peppers in the world are on this list.

Just a little update on those two Carolina Reapers I started this winter(January)...
they grow so well I cut 6 inch's of them twice already....they will produce real quick when they go out in May...

The little tepin pepper plant I started at the same time grows great
in front off the sliding door as well...already eating a few peppers off that...
nice having fresh grown hot peppers in Feb-March.....and looking at the snow outside. Laughing

You can pack and ship to friends right CB Very Happy

Nice list and I love the hot pepper section. You gotta have the hot ones on there!

I used to love growing peppers but every time I have tried in the last 5 years I have run into this little bastard (hornworm) Evil or Very Mad

I have tried in 3 different locations in my area (from moving place to place) and every single time these things appear. First time I saw one it scared the hell out of me and I went to town on the whole 5 gallon plant as there were 5 on there. They were all at least 4 inches long, the size of your thumb and look like they could take a swipe at me need be.

I eventually gave up as I would get them off and days later there would be more. Frustrating to say the least.

That thing belongs in a zoo......glad I do not have any real major pests to bother my plants...other than a couple stray cats cr@pping in the garden...I get rid of them pretty quick with the hose. Laughing

I can't hardly wait! Seems like it's been a loooong winter. Really looking forward to the summer garden this year (and seeing your plants - gives me extra motivation Laughing ). I'm planning on starting the Bhuts and Scorpions this weekend, since you said they can take up to a month to germinate. Good luck!

TX727 - Ya need to try 'Captain Jack's Dead Bug Brew' (Spinosad) for them nasty little fokkers. It's an organic insecticide that has worked really well for me.

EXACTLY!! They raise up all but maybe 1/2" and turn there body towards what ever is agitating them, lol. Like I said, the first time I only saw 2 on there and removed them (flame to the ass helped). 3 days later there were 5 on there (damn varmits brought reinforcements). I proceeded to get out my cigar torch and light it near one and I swear all 5 raised up and looked at me....

That is when I grabbed a shovel and went all Sigourney Weaver in Aliens on there ass. Wasn't about to take any chances Very Happy

Big O....I am amazed at how hardy these two Carolina Reapers are....I just grab the scissors and lop of 6 inches every time they get a little to tall...they will just start to sprout out everywhere once I give them a shot of my home brewed fertilizer. Very Happy

Peppers can be trimmed down to promote new growth without the worries of them dyeing.

I got my germinated seeds planted last week. Looking good, so far.

3 Scotch Bonnets, 3 Orange habs, and 2 Trinidad Scorpions have poked through. Very Happy
The chocolate habs did not take to the germination process you presented.
As well, as some banana pepper seeds. Confused

I'm pretty happy with what I have to this point, and, it's still early. Smile

Would you recommend soaking the "stubborn" seed varieties instead?

Thanks. Very Happy

Mark I would recommend soaking them for 24 hours....I am going to do that with all my seeds this year.....I know my bag method works well but I'm always up for trying different things. Very Happy This year I am going to soak in water for 24 hours then right into my Miracle Gro Seed starting mix on the heat mat.I have a lot of brand new seed stock this year so I am confident that I should get 90-95% germination.

CB.....

In perusing your convienient listing there, it seems that something called a "Chocolate Fatal 11" should have made the 1st string or "A" team....?

Those other ones MUST be too hot to leave room on the planet for humans....... Shocked Shocked Shocked

Im sorry buckie....they are called Chocolate Fatalii....
but they and a few others could easily make the A squad...I don't know why I left a space between the groups....
the only mild peppers listed are the one that have garden written beside them. Very Happy

There is always going to be one hotter...the Carolina Reaper has beaten out the Trinidad Scorpion(Butch T)by a few thousand scoville units..

Well i just started my 24 hour soak on all my pepper seeds, and set them on a nice warm Heat Accelerator mat.
I also filled 72 deep cell pots with seedling mix and pre soaked them so they can get all nice and
warm on the mat as well.....tomorrow morning I will drop two seeds in each cell and wait for the magic to happen, the
weakest sprout in each cell gets the axe. Very Happy
