Can anyone tell me where I can find a good brand of lump in the Boston area. All I see is Cowboy.

I don't know about Boston, but in New Hampshire I've seen Nature’s Own in Milford, BGE in Amherst, Cowboy in Merrimack, and Weekend Warrior in Manchester.

There's a place at the corner of Rt. 117 and ... crap, need to check mapquest ... Rt. 117 and Sudbury Road in Concord that carries Royal Oak. Agway in Northboro carries it, too. If you are going to the Agway, call first to see if they have it, as they might not carry it over the winter.

Let me see if I can find the name of the place in Concord ... no, can't find the name. It's a meat market, though. It's right next to the Dunkin' Donuts. I know that isn't a particularly helpful comment, as there must be a DD on every corner around here. Smile

Thanks for the info guys. I'd been hoping to find some Lump other than Cowboy around the Boston area. Been doing some internet surfing to find different things.

I had been using Big Green Egg lump, but when The Backyard Barbeque went out of business I couldn't get it any more.

I'll definately be checking out the BBQ Barn. According to yahoo maps, there less than 10 miles from me. Excellent.

I also saw on Wicked Good Charcoal's web site that The Butcher Boy Marketplace (a butcher shop) in North Andover is one of the places in Mass that carries WGC. I haven't called or stopped by to check, but I definately want to head over there to see what kind of meats they have. If they do have WGC, I'll pick up a bag.

I can always count on our little tiny wal-mart to have royal oak lump (USA derived, not Argentina, or brazilian woods) and "real Flavor" brand.

And we have the worst wal-mart in the nation!!!

"Real-Flavor" is actualy some good stuff (in My opinion), and it rated high at naked Whiz too.

But real Flavor brand also has briquettes, so make sure you are getting lump, the labels are almost identical from a distance. and it is a wal-mart brand nationwide. so they all have it!

I went to the BBQ barn and got some Nature's Own Basque Lump and I was using that until recently. I liked it a lot.
I've been trying some of the Wicked Good Charcoal and it's tremendous stuff. I just bought 6 11lb. bags of some new hardwood briquettes. That's been working out great too.

Finally found where the BBQ Barn is and it looks like there is a lot of construction going on. There's a sign that says Opening Spring of '07. Looks like they're constructing a new building.

I did go to The Butcher Boy Marketplace in North Andover and got an 11lb bag of Wicket Good Lump Weekend Warrior Blend.

Haven't seen any lump at Wally World yet though.
