Does anyone have a smoker or smoker design that includes a place to use a Dutchoven on the smoker rig? Thanks for any pix or designs.

Well if it was an offset... What about just setting it on the firebox. Maybe a spacer to regulate heat?

Or inside the main chamber nearest the firebox?

I use the top of the firebox. It takes some playing with to figure out the bottom coals, since you need less (assuming the pit is going).

On my 36" square, 1/4"plate fire box, cooking off the side:

A 12" lodge camp oven will do a lazy bubble without coals under it, if my pit is running 250.

My jumbo cheapo DO without legs (14"/deep???) will do a light simmer sitting straight on the box at the above temp.

6 pieces of match light K was to much under a 10" camp oven cooking canned cinnamon rolls.

If the firebox is round you can make a saddle.

Neat idea. Never thought of putting a Dutch oven on the firebox.

I started when i was doing a comp. It was over asphalt and don't have a table.

I also use the lid from my 14 set on my 2 burner fryer to create a "table" for the smaller ones when I am at home.
