What are you cooking it on?
Which style cooker, direct or indirect?
My understanding is the wild hogs don't carry as much fat as the farmed so you don't need to render as long.
Here's hog cooking 101 http://www.thesmokering.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22364
Doesn't cover wild hogs as such but you'll get a better idea than by not reading it. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

i wasnt as detailed as i meant to be. it is an indirect smoker (no reverse flow). a friend had it built. never been around while he smoked on it to see how it cooks, so ill have to keep my eye on it more than usual. ill be using charcoal and a little hickory.
yeah the fat on a wild hog is called "soft fat" while on a farm raised is called a "hard fat". from what iv read, hard fat actually has more flavor but the soft fat is better for you. iv smoked venison so im sorta relating my 8 hour time frame with that. was curious if someone knew how long per pound to cook one. wild game cooks alot faster.
thanks for the link. ill check it out. _________________ if you want beef, go to texas
