I just need to share this with you guys. Last night some coward fu#$% thieves broke in to my garden and stole 15 of my finest bonsai trees! I had been working on some of those for almost 10 years. It was organized and planned, they had to have a van and be more than 1. I just came in now after cutting and tearing down 2 of my bonsai benches, I give up!! I lost trees for almost $30000 in one go and it pi$$es me off. From now on, my hobby will be solely building massive heavy smokers with alarm systems on them. I just keep thinking, what if I was awake and saw them sneaking around out there!!!Evil or Very Mad
I just had to tell.

Is there a local Bonsai growers association, post the pictures, get the local newpaper, TV or radio aware.

Don't give up, something may bring them back to you.

Those type of things dont just disappear without somebody having some sort of knowledge in certain circles.
I agree with SE. Check out every green thumbed place in the vicinity that might be into those trees.

That really really sucks. But I agree with the other 2. Those should be easy to trace. It was someone that knew they were there and knew what they were doing.

It had to be someone who know they were there and had a means to offload them. Those interested in Bonsai trees would be a very small circle of people.

Also check craigslist for people selling bonsai trees and related products. I know a few people who have recovered stolen items this way.

Thanks for the good advice. I am the local bonsai growers association Laughing . I called 2 local newspapers, they came and made a newsflash of it. I also posted a "thread" on Facebook.
I threw a $2000 reward out there for whoever help me find the trees and/or the fu$%& who did this. Hopefully to be continued. Thanks for your support fellow ringers.

Yeah.. given that you are in Norway with its small population I can not see the desire to have bonsai to be a huge calling.. there will be a paper trail as it were and you got to stick with it to follow it up..

Dr Phil's '57 chevy was stolen and exported to Russia (he thinks)

Maybe your Bonsi were stolen and shipped out of country too...maybe Iceland?? Shocked Shocked

Guys like that are FAST, they can have it boxed and shipped within minutes of stealing it Shocked

My wife really likes Bonsi plants and has had a few nice ones that she grew. I am sure not as nice as yours (from what you write).

Good luck on finding them (plants AND culprits)

Jan, sorry to hear about this man. There is nothing worse than a coward bastard thief. Hopefully they can find who took the trees and get them back where they belong.

Jan, I am sorry and upset to here about this my Friend. I know those trees were your babies and to know that some low life stole them is terrible. I hope they catch the P.O.S.'s and throw the book at them.

Thanks guys. I am pretty sure that my trees are in eastern europe by now. It is a fast growing problem we are having over here now, polish and lithuanian gangs stealing everything of value that is not bolted to the ground. Yesterday someone stole 8 propellers and vital engine parts from a dock nearby. Houses are getting robbed as we speak, bikes and cars are stolen and shipped the same day. The cops we have over here are focusing on writing speed and parking tickets. They don't have guns and their respond time is a good 2 -3 hours.
Texas, here we come!!!

Sorry J.O. but I had to laugh... bonsai is a fast growing problem! I just skimmed your post and that was what jumped out at me!
