Has anyone ever used the Rubbermaid brand pan carriers? I've been looking to add a Cambro or 2 to my arsenal but it seems everyone on Ebay wants a new price for used and if I'm gonna have to pay that, I might as well get new. I found a used one of the Rubbermaids and was wondering how they stack up to Cambros or Carlisles. Thanks.

I have 2 #400 Cambros, one heated and one not. They are great.
Carlisle makes unheated ones, that I have heard are pretty good and not as expensive as Cambro.
Never heard of anyone using Rubbermaid. I didn't even know they made them.
Check the heat retention values for it.
IMHO. The old saying goes, "Ya get what ya pay for".

Which 400 do you have? I can get a UPCS400 for $259/free shipping or a UPC400 for$331/free shipping but I can't find out the difference. I do know that the S series doesn't have/need a door gasket and it also doesn't have a vent cap, looks like it's an automatic vent. But I don't know why there's such a large difference in the price. Just seems like there should be a reason for it.

I have the UPC-400 for the unheated one.
UPCH-400 for the heated one.
These questions comes to mind, if it is a built in seal, is it replaceable or do you have to buy a new door?
$23 difference where I got mine.
Another benefit is that the UPC can be converted to a heated version later if the need arises.
Edit: looks like the "S" weighs 14.5 pounds more too.

This is the Rubbermaid unit. It also comes with casters. New is 256.97. I just keep getting more confused.

The Rubbermaid says it is a 4 pan carrier vs a 6 pan from Cambro.
I wouldn't like the attached wheels, cause I stack mine or use them on top of a counter/table.
When the need arises for wheels, I'll buy their dolly.

It looks like basically the difference is how the vent works - on the UPCS400 it has a built-in vent which automatically equalizes pressure and releases steam as necessary, while polyurethane insulation ensures excellent food quality and temperature retention.

The UPC400 has a pop-up vent allows steam to be released and keeps menu items from becoming soggy. Polyurethane insulation and an airtight gasket combine to ensure excellent food quality and temperature retention. A single, sturdy plastic latch is easy to open and close securely, with a door that opens 270 degrees to the side.

Awesome holder! Will hold hot for hours no problem. Holds 3-6 inch deep or 4-4 inch full sized pans.
