I'm almost finished. Still a couple "details" to work out, but at least it looks like something you could cook with.

Pretty cool......I definitely wish I had the mechanical ability to do something like that. Make sure to post some pics when you get her fired up!

Great looking cooker. You will have some pride when you show this cooker off.

Thanks everyone. I've been keeping track of all the things I'll do different on the next one. Very Happy

This will be my first attempt at using sticks for heat, so if I like it, I'll do something a little heavier next time.

I must insist that you get the pictures of the maiden voyage posted right away!

Good work. I am up to 4 smokers now and you have got me wanting to build one for the collection.

My wife would kill me I am afraid.

good job!!!!! i think you are going to enjoy cooking on it
for as simple as these cookers are to make they really do
keep a good even temp across the grates, just be sure and line
the bottom of the fire barrel with fire brick if you dont it will burn out
pretty quickly.

Romex, the fire brik is the only thing left to do. (mounted it on an axel last night) It's going to be cold and raining this weekend, so I doubt I will get to light it up. When I do, I'll snap a couple pics of it.

Figure I should wait till after the first burn to paint it? There is a lot of "loose" pain on it now.

I would use it several times before painting. That way you get everything off that is going to come off. I would then degrease it and pressure wash it before painting with 1200 degree paint.

Very nice bucket, I like the way you used 3 barrels to make 2 bigger! Nice workman ship, you should have many happy events with this smoker!
