Yep, ya heard me right. BOURBON. Last I checked Kentucky is still part of the South.
A couple weeks ago I was looking for a good Banana Nut Bread to compare mine to. I discovered a Bourbon version of it. Hmmm, sounded good. I haven't made it yet. That's gonna be another story.
But the idea crossed, and may have overloaded my pea brain. But, what about a good ole banana puddin' with a bit of a kick in the bottom? I'll tell ya what, everthing goes good with bourbon, including bourbon. LOL
'Nuff said, let's git to cookin', er, stirrin' and samplin'.

Nilla Wafers and Bourbon

Ready to set up

The Cool Whip

The Money Shot

Jarhead's Southern Bourbon 'Nanner Puddin'

3-1/2 Cups Cold Milk (I don't care what the package says)
2 Boxes Instant Vanilla Pudding (4 serving size)
1 Box Nilla Wafers
3-4 Ripe Bananas
1 Jigger Bourbon (or more. Ya know, for the cook)
1 Tub of Cool Whip (thawed)

Mix 2 pkg of instant pudding, whisk for 2 minutes or until stiff.
Let it set for 5 minutes.
Layer 1/2 of the wafers into a 9x13 glass baking dish.
Spritz or sprinkle the bourbon over the wafers.
Peel and slice 1 banana into 1/4 inch rounds.
Layer over the wafers. (be careful, the wafers will suck up more bourbon than Otis Campbell)
Spread 1/2 of the pudding over the first 2 layers.
Repeat.
Let set for 2 hours in the fridge.
Spread thawed Cool Whip over the top.
Refrigerate another 2-3 hours before serving.
Garnish with sliced bananas, stood edgewise. Make sure you dip them in lemon juice or they will turn brown.

Griffin, see what you started with your Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie Twisted Evil

Thanks for lookin'. Enjoy!

You can bourbon extract if you don't want to buy bourbon.

I might need to try the Bourbon additive to my recipe.
I wouldn't care for it, but I could see my customers liking it.

thanks for sharing.

I do a pudding from scratch with 4 cups sugar, 14 egg yolks, and a gallon of milk, a little large for home usage unless you really love the stuff.
