Well we just got back from our first vending gig, and yes the ring was my first stop after hitting the door. I was pretty optimistic about the potential sales. we were the only vendor, with 6 bands playing at a benefit. The deal was to split the profits with the benefit, so $600 in expenses and $500 in sales we took a loss. But on a good note, we had several people ask for cards because they are looking to potentially use us for catering their upcoming events. So it may not be a total loss yet. I'll be happy when deposits are made. I guess I should get to helping my wife unpack Embarassed

LOL that's what I was telling my wife. It could have been way worse. We made the mistake of counting on sales numbers from our "practice cooks" to be a given, the are usually $450-500, then adding the benefit numbers. Lesson learned, vending will definitely be a thing to do if I wanted a reason to cook during that time. The catering part is so much less stressful.
