This is my second year vending. Business this year has been steady @ about X3 over last year. Now, as summer hits for real, and temp and humidity climb into the 90s, my sales plummet to near last years levels. Then when à cooling trend comes, they go right back up. Is this just to be expected? I know I go off my feed somewhat when its hot. Would I be just as well off to go to the lake when it's really scorching, or is it just part of " Paying my dues". I respect your guys opinions, as I'm still learning the ropes.

I've noticed just the opposite.
The hotter it is the higher my sales are.
We're looking at high 90's for the rest of the week so I'm cooking heavy.

We were in the 90's all last week too - lunch sales were down about 40%, construction crews just didnt feel like eating big in the heat [ the few that are left working] - dinner was up though - lots of Mama's didnt want to heat the houses and do dishes I guess. Overall sales were down a bit - but worth staying open!!

yeah I'd say it works both ways. some people eat less when it gets real hot, but other people just want to get out of the house and not cook in their own kitchen.

we're by a river that has lots of tubers & kayakers on the weekends, so sometimes hot days are our best. when it's extra hot (like 100) and/or real humid business slows down some.
