Looking at buying a great sausage grinder/stuffer. Thankfully I saw the posts about KitchenAid and am not going to waste my money on this-
Been doing some searches on ebay and found a stainless steel electric grinder/stuffer that looks good. Anyone have any insight on this equipment or others? New MTN Gearsmith Commercial Heavy Duty Special Carbon Steel 1HP Automatic Meat Grinder #12 blade
Here is the link:

Thanks! |

I second Jarhead's recommendations.
I've heard conflicting reports on the MTN grinders. Biggest concern seems to be the REAL power of the motor (noisy, really strains under load, emits smell). Despite what the ad copy says,"Simply plug and grind your way to financial success..." I'm a bit wary of them.
The NT grinder is very popular and at a great price. If you think you'll need MORE power, many sausage makers like the 'beefier' models from LEM and/or Cabelas.
Oh, and DO invest in a separate stuffer! The 5-lb $99 Grizzly Stuffer is another good value.

Manual. Easy to control & crank for one person. |

Others may differ, but I would also stay away from carbon steel heads and trays and look for stainless steel. You will pay more up front but not have to worry about dis-colorization, pitting, oxidizing, etc. _________________ Pat
