I am new to welding - taking an introduction course at a local community college.

A local store has the following unit for $350.
I went and looked at it. Measures 24" high, 12" wide, and 8" deep.

Is anybody familiar with or have they used a unit like this?
Any thoughts or recommendations? Good/bad?

MacEggs, I can't comment on the setup, I'm not very informed on the subject.But... Does the store selling it also fill the bottles?
I've heard that can be a PITA but I don't know what the rules are in Canada.
I suggest checking a local welding supply and see what they have, getting bottles re-filled, parts, service, etc.
Good luck and enjoy. Very Happy

+1 those bottles won't do a lot of cutting....so make sure the regulators can be hooked up to bigger bottles...

I don't think the store does re-fills, but they might know where.
I could inquire at some local weld shops. Very Happy

I was wondering about that too. Confused

It just looks like a handy unit to have around,
so long as it's not a PITA to fill the bottles.
And the price seems reasonable, too.

I should wait until I finish the course before I buy something.

Thanks again for the input. Very Happy
