Hi everyone! Going for my second smoke today yesterday was a porkbutt and it came out soooo good! =) Today im going to give a couple chickens a try, i was thinking of doing a cherry and maple combo or maybe just cherry? Not sure, has anyone tryed maple/cherry? And also what fruit juice would you reccomend?

Best,
Irubbutts.

I use cherry and maple together all the time - just be careful, maple burns HOT!

Cherry is my go to wood. The post I have going right now with the beer butt chicken was done with all cherry. It creates great color, has awesome flavor, and isn't too strong. It's definitely my favorite for everything

Rock the cherry. As stated above i get great color with it and its not overbearing. Having 2 cherry trees in the yard makes it a easy wood to cook with.
