Started with Tri Tip roast, but any sirloin cut would work

Sliced it thinly across the grain

Cut up some peppers, onions, mushroom and fresh tomatoes. Also added tomato paste, garlic and fresh thyme and parsley.

Browned the meat and seasoned it with S&P and some spices

added the veggies

Mixed it all up and added the garlic, herbs, tomato paste and 1/4 cup red wine

Added beef base and a mixture of corn starch and water to thicken the sauce
Then topped with the fresh tomatoes

Simmered until the sauce came together and all the flavors blended well.

Dinner is served Smile
This is great served over rice, egg noodles or just with crusty bread. This dish is not the same as the Oriental/Chinese pepper steak; it has more of Euro roots.
