|
|
Beginning to plan for competition season... This is my team's 3rd year and our cheap EZ-up knock off served its purpose, but has seen better days.
I'm looking to upgrade to a 10'x20' carport style canopy with sides. But there are so many brands and websites that sell them, I want to make sure i don't buy garbage. I'm afraid of spending $300 for something "heavy duty" and getting junk.
Any suggestions on a good brand, or where to get a good portable canopy at a reasonable price? _________________ Cory

I've seen the ones from Sam's Club / CostCo used by a number of teams that have the room to carry them, they are not as pack able as teh EZup's though, so that may be a consideration if space is at a premium!

We have one we use for festivals and I will say the one we have is really nice. It looks like the one they sell at Sam's but that is not where we got it. My wife ordered it online and had it shipped.
I will say they take up a little more room but not really that bad. The first time you set up do it at home because it will take some time to get it right and its hard for 1 or 2 people the first time. We (my wife and myself) can set ours up in about an hour now without to many problems.
Make sure after you get it up the 1st time to mark the peices as to where they go (legs, top center, middle top, ect) however you want to do it. It will save you a lot of time the next time you set up. Make sure you have a rubber mallet if you have the Metal Frame. You will need it.
Good Luck. _________________ Master Certified barbecue Judge,

thanks for the advice. I probably would have taken it out of the box for the first time when we got to our site otherwise. _________________ Cory

I use the coleman 12 x 12.
I have had 3 different friends buy them when they saw mine.
I picked it up at Walmart for $129. |

I used one of those at a comp once. I will never do it again. PITA to set up, tear down. Get the real EZ Up's, they hold up better than the nockoffs. JM2C/IMHO _________________ 22.5 Weber Kettle
