Chuck, thanks bro! You know I wasnt sure about the set up, but as it came together, the more I liked it. Glad its got the old chuckied seal of approval Very Happy

GF, thanks for the kind words, Im hoping to get both wrapped up pretty quick, but it seems work has some other things in mind right now. Confused

Maniac, thanks bro, Im hoping the SS makes it look like I want it to. I appreciate you posting your build, got me to thinking about what I wanted to come up with.

Kevin, thanks for taking a look and the kind words. I appreciate it. Steal away my friend, cuz I know your going to anyways Laughing

Chuck, I forgot the infringments clause at the bottom of the page. I guess I could copyright it but he would just come back and make it a little different so the copyright wouldnt protect me. You know Kevin, he will probably make his out of angle iron anyways Rolling Eyes

Awesome looking stand TB. Curious if you've test fired the burner yet. I had that model but had to replace it. At lower pressure I got an incomplete fire ring and at higher pressure it blows itself out.

Kinda like " Where's Waldo". I forget you've been hangin' in the disco section these days. Fine idea putting a stand under it. Might move those things mainstream and get them the respectability worthy of co-habitating with thier more established brethren, General Electric, Ken More, and magic Chef. It's looking good Troy! Very Happy

KAKid, I finally got the burner test fired tonight. I didnt have any problems at a lower burn, but I did see what you were talking about at the higher setting. But at the setting where the flame was starting to act crazy should hopefully never be used. If I get that much flame going, Im going to have scorched black food fast Laughing Thanks for the heads up, this is all a learning game for me.

Chuck, you think Im joking Shocked

Mike, glad you found me man. I have been hiding down on the lower side of the forum lately, but have no fear, as soon as this build is done and cooking, Ill be playing back in your neighborhood Wink Thanks for the kind words bro and thanks for the disc Very Happy

Finally got a little time to do some fab work on the disco set up Very Happy

Had a few hinges left over from my X2 build, so I cut them down to use as handles on the disc.

Used 5" SS spring handles, I got a good deal on these Kevin Razz Laughing

GF, I really like your idea on the angle cut into the lip for a drain, but I decided not to go with it on mine. I just like the looks of the ring like it is around the disc. I think you have a great idea, just my personal preference to leave it like it is. Now that dont mean after a few cooks, Im not putting it in there though Laughing

Finished a few minor things on the stand and got it all sanded and cleaned up and painted.

Thought Id give this a try Confused

Had some 20ga SS broke to wrap around the stand like I wanted. Just put it in place and used a few sealed SS rivets to hold it in place.

The backside. I like how it turned out and hides the tank from front viewing. You can see the 2nd stand in the background painted up and ready for SS Smile

Academy Sports had the adjustable regulator and SS braided hose on sale the other day, so I went that route.

This is with the regulator about 1/4 way opened maybe. A good blue flame with a bit of orange at the tips.

Heres the regulator wide open. The fire was sporadic like KAKid mentioned earlier in the thread, but if I cook at this heat, I dont think Ill have to worry about eating anyways Laughing

Im almost there, just have to get the 2nd stand covered with the SS and get a couple longer bolts for the burners to mount, damn metric bolts anyways Evil or Very Mad Wont be long now and the first cook will be taking place, I can say that I am ready for that day to take place Smile

More to follow...

Troy, I'm getting jealous of you guys and your discos.
I like the thought and design that you put into yours.
Just don't cook chicken on it for it's maiden cook. Laughing Wink

Troy,
She looks great bro! Cool My disco doesn't need a whole lotta fire under it to burn things. I think you got plenty of heat to spare with that baby...

GF, thanks for the kinds words.

KAKid, thanks for looking, I dont know about production, but I will say after building and rebuilding the first one, the second one is going much easier...and faster Very Happy

Chuck, thanks bro, I cranked the burner last night playing around and the ceiling in my garage was getting warm...think that outta be plenty for dinners Wink

Maniac, thanks for looking, Im really happy with the SS and the whole outcome of the stand. First cook is coming soon and Im sure there will be a learning curve many times over Confused

Kevin, thank you my friend! The springs are cheaper for sure...in $$$ that is, same as yours, just $3 a piece cheaper from the same company Razz I did make some progress on Chucks disc today, I was at the store that sells them, I didnt buy one, or even look at one for that matter, but I was at the store Laughing

Jeep, thanks for taking a look and the kind words, Im ready for the action shots as well Smile

Troy & Kevin,
You guys know I can't afford one of them highfalutin fancy a$$ Trailerbuilder 18" discos, with them fancy SS spring handles and a diving board so the vittles can jump in, not to mention my name welded into it...
Why tease a brother like this?

It's just cruel... That's what it is... Just plain cruel... Crying or Very sad

My man Chuck, we all know this is BS. Those "highfalutin" SS spring handles are probably cheaper than your pink lemonade Razz Wink
