I am still in Texas and this was all worked out through emails between me and the event organizer.

She said she had gotten a quote from Famous Dave's BBQ because she knew their price couldn't be beat

The guest count was quoted for 300 adults with pulled pork and 2 sides. Also dogs for 50 kids along with all paper goods...delivered, set up and cleaned up..NOT served.

The quote (have to take her word on it) was for $2600 including tax but NOT gratuity.

I quoted her 1 sandwich each per adult and 1 dog each per kid with beans and potato salad as the sides for all.

My quote was $3250 inclusive of tax and gratuity (over $1k discount) delivered and set up but no clean up.

She emailed back and asked "how do I pay"??

I took her CC info over the phone and called my processor (because i am out of town) for processing

She said she called FD twice to book them and the guy said he needed a CC to book so she emailed it to him then 2 weeks went by and she heard nothing so called and he AGAIN told her he needed a CC so she said...screw it and emailed me and had it all settled and paid in less than an hour..all through email.

I'm just curious how "Doing My Duty" applies here by charging military families more than the original quote?
