howdy all, just another Q-lover from texas. Hoping to pick up some tips and tricks that will help me at local competitions. Seems the game is changing from years past but its still my favorite hobby.

Welcome to the Smokering QTEX! MAN....i checked out some of those pics on your FB page.GOSH do they bring back some memories.Your brisket pictures are BEAUTIFUL, TEXAS smoked brisket look soooo original.All the cookers are very nice units but that BRAMBLE....I would have to let one go,just to have that cooker.The crossed ammo belt has to be the best cook-off trophy i have ever seen.Keep on doin' it down there in south Texas,Alice,George west,used to be well drillin' towns for me years ago.Love your style! | Thanks everybody. Roughneck there is a huge boom in the oli biz in that area again all the way to the Del Rio and up areas. My little brother is in the oil field too, wish I had his paychecks, lol. |

Awe man....I KNOW!!! lol Boy,i've thought about packin the camper and hittin' the road every since i heard about it.I would HAVE to push tools tho ,only 52 but gettin' too old to swing those tongs or climb derricks again.Back then most of us were half drunk too,workin 80 hours of OVER time was a MUST or you wasn't worth a chit.Still have those old check stubs,123 hours in a 7 day WEEK.LOL Hell,everything is automated now though i THINK.Up in North Dakota "SOME" are payin "Directional" drillers up to $1350.00 dollars a DAY,1000.$ is common and i found out it IS the truth.Gotta be one tough ____ out there though.My BIL broke his leg out in west Texas on a rig,we threw him in the bed of a pick-up and hauled ass 28 miles to get him some relief.He's still b!tchin about his leg bouncin all over yet today.LOL I DO hear ya brother.I lived for years in Luling,sure do miss that City Market too. |
