I've been hearing about this via a few different sources - including my meat supplier and ringers. I used to get cases of 9-13 pound briskets - now can only get "9 pound and up", even ended up with a case of what was basically xl hamburgers called briskets Confused Cant wait to see the price hikes! Twisted Evil Pork pretty much doubled here in the lat year - but has since stabilized - cant wait until the mandatory hike in corn oil gas [ 100% increase nationally] takes its toll on ALL meat prices next! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I have been hearing this from my Ranching friends and some of the butchers for the last year. Not going to be pretty.

So - do you continue to buy beef at these prices, or are you buying less?

I vend, so my customers have been making the choice, as of today I charge $4 pound more for brisket than pulled pork / poultry / ham - so far, no real drop in beef sales - many are buying for Christmas parties - work and home - we will see when these new prices hit! If they hit across the board based on the corn oil 06359+8gas additive, I will most likely see a sales drop across the boards! Thank you big government intervention Twisted Evil

Thats interesting about beef sales. I am still buying beef, but as little as possible. Pork loins look like a real good deal price wise. Tell me more please about the corn oil additive.

Thank You

right now, the gov mandates 10% ethanol in gasoline - they are changing that to 20% - ethanol is made from corn and other grains that USUALLY feed all kinds of farm animals and humans! Not only does it make our vehicles get far worse mileage and shorten engine life, requiring even more additives and gas to go a mile, it actually costs 10 times more per gallon to produce than gasoline.
Green, my arse!

I remember reading this on here before, I think it was BigOrson who was telling everyone to watch out. Or maybe it was Mr.Tony?
