Two of my favorite events in two days!
Yupp, BBQMAN is a bit tired today, but it was SO worth it!
We had an awesome market day, then turned and burned prepping for our favorite Toys For Tots charity bike run.
Fed about 1200 last year, and had a few more this year.
Probably helped out by chamber of commerce weather, low 60s start, 80' and partly cloudy finish.
The owner had family and other guests from out of town (great time to be here from Michigan! ) and loudly exclaimed that we had the best pulled pork and coleslaw in town.
Simple meal- pulled pork sammies, fresh made coleslaw, and baked beans.
We had teacher volunteers for the serving, had my "A" team along, and fed them all in about an hour with two serving lines.
Food truck event after market this coming Saturday, and two for the week after coupled by holiday party starts. _________________ BBQMAN

| Congrats. Mike. That may be a "simple menu" but 1200 plus feed & happy in that time is outstanding... |

So I could possibly get in on this event in my own area (hundreds of bikers), who hired you for this event...or did you vend it? _________________ Where rumors end and legend lives forever... |

The lady that owns the dealership puts this on every year (24th anniversary)- it was her late husbands favorite charity.
It was catered, as in I got paid for a guaranteed 1250, and had enough (per agreement) for 200 more.
Getting in to do one of these events is a real honor and a rare opportunity.
The raunt that dropped the ball 4 years ago was not invited back (this was our 3rd year, and we were invited back for next year on the spot- again).
We got in because of my contacts from back in my bike mechanic days (I know the lead mechanic) and I had catered for some of the employees at other events and they knew about our food. _________________ BBQMAN

That's great Mike!!
I have done (catered) a few (3) events for our local HD (Harley Dealer) but the last one we did they actually made the people go inside and get a ticket to present to me for lunch
And the 3 events I have done for them they wanted CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP
It just got to the point that I could not work for them any longer...but there is always someone in the ready to step in and take on a no/low paying job
I mean, I will always cut someone a deal and especially so for a good cause such as this...just not for free. Not this one _________________ Where rumors end and legend lives forever... |

I cook 10 cases or approximately 700 pounds.
My target is 350 pounds of finished pork, or about 1,400 portions. _________________ BBQMAN
