The frozen ones are not bad either, if you need less than 4.
I have to admit, my mom always made the "canned" biscuits, and I kind of like them better than homemade.
That being said I will make "scratch" biscuits from time to time. Will have to give this recipe a go. _________________ 22.5 Weber Kettle

Out of a can or from scratch, the final B&G is the thing. _________________ The Demolition Man - Demolition Man BBQ |

These are the last ones my wife made ...
Baking Powder Biscuits
From The Southern Heritage Breads Cookbook, Oxmoor House; 1983.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons shortening
¾ cup milk
Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir well. Cut in the shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle milk evenly over flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out onto a floured surface; knead 10 to 12 times.
Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness; cut with 1 ½-inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on greased baking sheets. Bake at 450 °F for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Yield: 3 ½ dozen. _________________ Pitt's & Spitt's U2436 |

The one my wife uses?
I've been buying old cookbooks at library book sales (booksalefinder.com). Old recipes are so much better.
Old recipes are simpler, too. We watch America's Test Kitchen and laugh at how difficult they want to make good cooking. _________________ Pitt's & Spitt's U2436 |
