HD inspections went very well. No issues what so ever!
Been using the van since last post and am very pleased so far. It wont take much longer & i`ll be filling in the roll up door & making a single walk in door. Getting pretty hot around here an AC unit is in the near future that's for sure.
Here is a couple more pics.
First one here is of the outside serving window shelf. Finally got that finished used aluminum diamond plate. Support rods underneath are removable & then the shelf folds down & is pinned in place for transit. Kinda cool huh?
Cant see it too well but...here`s one of the floor. I went to our local Tractor Supply Store and bought four 3x4 rubber horse stall mat`s. These mats are a 1/2 inch thick & very comfortable on the feet. I told the HD Rep about these mats prior to purchase and she was very impressed with the slip resistant addition to the floor. Even made the van seem more quiet bouncing down the road also.
These heavy rubber mats cost a little over $23 bucks each.

Congrats on flying thru the HD inspections. Sweet looking serving shelf! If you're anything like me, you'll never stop "tweaking" things.
No doubt your feet are gonna thank you for the floor mats. I've been eyeing those stall mats at our Running's for a while. First for the basement prep kitchen I'm not building now, but now for the floor of the van and the pickup bed. That's a really good price, so may have to make a trip over to TSC. _________________ I was taught to respect my elders. It's just getting harder to find them.

Have some updates for y`all.
Been looking for and adding lettering to the truck. Here is what i have done so far.
Also cut a 4 inch hole in the side & installed a little RV door for the power cord to slide thru.
Hindsight tells me i should have done things differently, still can i guess. I have a few misc. things i want to do yet but its a working unit for now, touch up painting mostly chipped up exterior panels etc. |

Maybe it is the angle of the picture but I find the lettering hard to read.
When I was catering, I wanted people to be able to read my lettering as they were driving by as well as from a (reasonable) distance...at a glance.

Yeah I agree Marv it's a bit hard to read but the price was right. Kinda hard to tell from an online order.
I paid $50 per door for one color lettering locall for my Ranger PU. The van ones were like $68 each shipped. So... It is what it is.
When I pull the DPP smoker behind the van everyone knows its me, chrome stacks & all. Small town like Norfolk Ne. It's hard to be anonymous. |

Considering that the money pit... i mean food truck cost me many dollars to build i decided to cheap out and buy one of those portable AC units instead of the $1000 dollar installed AC units. Soleusair 8,000 btu`s for a 10x20 room. Lets face it it would have taken me all day to wrestle the thing up on the roof and a twelve pack to get some one wire it.
Menard's we went...
For $269 plus tax and 10 minuets of cutting and fitting the exhaust port we sat in a comfortable 68 degree van and prepped a couple of briskets yesterday. Worked great and was cheap just like me....
Mr Piggy was in hog heaven...looks like he was shiver`in a little too.
