J.O., it was a darn good day, even better food, and the best folks! Great to meet up with you, your wonderful wife, and the adorable little one. Meeting Kevin and Debbie for the first time was if I already had, they are what you see here and more, and Big Ron- n- Dad stole the show from my viewpoint. Great visit, thanks for having me, all! Very Happy Very Happy Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Wreckless: It was very nice to meet you! Hopefully our paths will cross again in a not so distant future Very Happy

We are sitting in our hotel room outside Houston airport right now, the last day of our journey. I have plenty more pics to show you so the story goes on. This morning we had brisket and ribs at Smitty`s market and tonight we had pulled pork sandwich at Rudy`s.
I really do NOT want to leave!! We miss our 4 other kids but would rather have them come over here.
Anyway, I`ll post some more pics when we get back to Norway.
Thank`s everyone for your nice comments!!

Back in Norway. Cold as "$#%. We miss Texas already. We found a piece of land with a decent house on it, guess we`ll be making an offer soon Very Happy

Here`s some pictures from "The county line" outside Austin. Did not really like that place. Not the smoky flavor we where looking for and they used some kind of tools for inserting the food into their faces? Cool They also served a weird bread. Nope, not going back there.

The food looked pretty good, but I wonder how they got that parsley to grow in the slaw?

.........WHAT??? What are these for??

Trying to blend in. Check out my confused expression.

J.O. looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing. My wife & I will be visiting Texas mid Nov., we will be visiting San Antonio, Austin & Dallas. We are planning on visiting Lockhart & eating at either Blacks, Smitty's or Kreuz. Thanks for all the info, it has been very helpful.

A nice day is a drive around Lake Travis & a stop @ Coopers in Llano. I've had great beef ribs, beans, and brisket there...

Now here is where I get confused Very Happy. Remove EITHER in that and eat at ALL of the above! I would skip the river walk in San Antonio any day to get some of the BBQ in Lockhart. I hope you will enjoy it like we did. I am glad you found our post helpful Very Happy

Ok folks. Went out and bought a WSM today. Needed a quick fix. I sold every cooker before the Texas trip so we had to get something sorted out fast. Great little thing, ribs today and 2 pork butts tomorrow. I have to build 2 more cookers before I can get back to building for the family.

Here`s some pictures from the comp with big Ron. Ron treated us with spare ribs, beef ribs, chicken and brisket, bread and drinks. A perfect day on our BBQ tour! Great people, nice weather and new friends.

k.a.m and Mrs k.a.m made these puppies as a snack. Jalapeño, cream cheese and bacon. Man, they tasted nice!!

Happy ringers on date night Very Happy

The story continues.. This is from City market in Luling. The word on the street is to go for the ribs, so we did. The word was right, amazing ribs! Weird thing was that the place faded a bit compared to Lockhart, don`t really know why because the food was great and the place had everything and then some.
We got the feeling that City market was a local thing more than an attraction. When we walked in there with our little baby a cowboy coming out said: "Y`all are doing the right thing with that baby" Cool
We REALLY miss Texas!!! We´ll be back there asap, and that`s a promise Very Happy

I MISS IT !!!
