I'll give you a 100% profit and the s&h for a quick sale... Only joking.
I have heard the none BGE ones called Kamodo or something like that, I don't know if that is a big green egg or a kamodo, which ever it is you look like you picked up a bargin!
Good luck with it, you might take a look at Big Green Egg .com but I don't think it is one of theirs, it looks different some how, perhaps the fact that bges look hammered. _________________ Here's a change Robert.

Can I actually smoke on this thing or just grill and BBQ? It needs some cleaning on the inside, but overall it is in good shape. The Estate sale started on Saturday and i didn't get there till Sunday in the late afternoon when everything was half off. Original price was $25. I'm surprised so many people passed this by.

I'd kill for the chance of picking up a BGE for $25.00...perhaps that was what happened to the person who wanted to purchase it? _________________ Here's a change Robert.

I don't yhink it is a BGE. It's more like a Komoto BBQ. Looks simular though.

Of course you can smoke with it! They hold a real good temp for a real long time.
Also good for high temp cooking of pizza and steaks! _________________ BBQMAN

That's a Big Green Egg. Send a pic to their forum and someone will identify it. http://www.biggreenegg.com/wwwboard/wwwboard.shtml
Yours should look like this:

That model may be a BGE from before the ceramic went high temp...
It may only be a smoker, not a grill...
Still a great deal... _________________ Klose 72" Mobile

That is exactly what mine looks like. The only thing it is missing is the small grate that goes inside the fire box. I will have to see if i can locate one. Cooked on it tonight, just burgers and chicken. I will need to get some cooking tips. I did have a little trouble with the fire, but I think the bottom grate would have helped.

| You ought to be able to make a bottom grate out of expanded metal. Like the charcoal basket mod to the ECB's |

| Do you use the Traeger pellets or the 100% pellets? When I switched to 100% pellets, I have been able to tell the difference in the amount of smoke in the meat. I cooked a couple 1" pork chops at 300 degrees today for lunch and got a nice smoke ring and flavor in that short amount of time, about 30 minutes. |

Shybob, I have complained to them. The way they built my unit, the smoke just comes out of the opening above the door and along the back. They should have put a smoke stack on the dam thing! I will post some pics of the opening this weekend so maybe I can get some suggestions on how to fix. A lift up door could help as a start. Smoke just pours out the gap above the roll up. Still cooks good though.

That looks like a big green egg and you did EXTREMELY well on that purchace. Those little guys are expensive. I understand that they cook very well..
There is another vent that replaces the one on the top that is supposed to be better. You can get it from big green egg. They also have a big green egg forum for questions and the like. Good luck. |

| Well, Flex, you could just drape a welder's blanket over the Traeger, that should cut down on the smoke getting away. I use a welder's blanket every time I smoke in the winter now. Helps keep the temp's up, though i have noticed that since I've gotten the digital thermostat it stays much closer to the set temp in the cold. The blanket just lets it do that with less fuel. |
