Hi all,
Please excuse my ignorance but its getting late and I need my beauty sleep.
What do you guys use for cooking grates, I see its affixed to box section but cannot find what material is used. I admit that I've not looked overly hard but as above its getting late and I'm sure that one of you kind people will point me in the right direction.
Just trying to get sorted in my head whats going to be on when I finally start gathering bits together.

Thanks in advance

John

Expanded metal always works great.

john656, on smaller cookers I use 1" x 1" x 1/8" angle iron for the frames and on larger builds I use 1" x 1" x 1/4" angle iron for the frame. The actual grate material is #9 3/4" flat expanded metal.

I like #13 1/2 flat expanded. It is easy to work with and depending on how much you need, it is available at some hardware stores. If you are cooking real low and slow the chicken will come off of it better.
