huuuuge bummer Jacky!
Watched one of my former neighbors do the exact same thing a couple years ago . . . took out 1/2 of his custom decking. The wife was not happy. . . _________________

Concrete slab is where mines at.
But an important lesson nonetheless. Might want to look at buying one of them burn proof pads that they sell. _________________ #3 LIAR

Now, that is funny!
I recommend something like this.
Seriously JACKY, I'm glad the damage was limited to just that. _________________ "If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

I once had a customer ask if I would warranty the brand new, sagging vinyl siding I had put on just weeks earlier - they stored the grill right up against the house - they were lucky the entire house didnt burn.
Great catch by the Mrs!!
A piece of 1/2" cement tile backer board from a local big box store will set you back about $10.00 and be a great barrier for years to come! _________________ Money Maker

| cement board sounds like a great idea / thanks / but know Mrs wants me to do all grilling downstairs on concrete / she is worried about what could have happened and it also scared me a little / like i said you can never be to cautious / life lesson learned / you work so hard for something and it could be taken away for being careless / i have preached to my daughter many times about paying attention and then i do something stupid / i heard it from her to / but all is good now / deck fixed / and moving on to next thing in life / a lot worse as happened to other people less fortunate then me / so in the scope off things i am fortunate with this minor misshape |

A great carpenter buddy of mine's house just burnt to the ground 2 weeks ago - they are guessing that the light bulb / wiring in the attic shorted / broke??? Mouse? Bat? Act of God? Less than 10 year old home.......Paper deliverer woke them at 4 am cuz of the flames shooting out of the roof - one can do it all right and still draw the short straw!! Great to see / hear all is well and back together!
Keep being careful, keep preaching to that daughter too - aint none of us perfect _________________ Money Maker
