The title pretty much says it all - does anyone have any preference/good things/bad things to say about either one? This is for my Bubba Grills 250-R (reverse flow)

I may be the least mechanically inclined person that I know - I'll pay double for pre-built Wink

Eeeek! I just spoke with Lisa Jo at BBQ Guru about what I needed. My ~350-400 buck project jumped over $500 QUICKLY. Apparently, my firebox really needs two fans (at $105 each,) which will require two vent adapters Sad

The stoker will only need one 25cfm fan.
Their new WiFi unit just came out recently.
You'll still be in the $500 price range but I think you'll get more for your money.

I did the similar research that you're doing last winter. I've got a pretty big firebox as well. Rock from Stoker assured me that 1 of his 25cfm fans would work and he was right. Check my cooker size in the pics of the build thread (Custom Offset- Sarge) listed below. The stoker with 1 25cfm works great.

I'm extremely please with the stoker. Solid technology and reliable.

Your firebox is significantly larger than mine - I don't see why on earth I'd need two 25cfm fans for one single firebox.

Now let's see if the CFO will allow me to come up off that money before my first comp Smile

Well I have used a Guru with a 25cfm and struggled as where the Stoker 25cfm works fine. I think it is the diameter of the pipe coming out of the fan into the firebox. The stoker is larger than the Guru.

Another vote for the Stoker. Then after you get more confident with it, you can get a free program called Stokerlog to take your Stoker experience to a whole new level.
