I've got a SYBBQ concession trailer and am looking for suggestions on the following:

1)Temp monitor system for my fridge. Basically, I would like to be able to know when and if my fridge temp ever drops to an unsafe zone and for how long. Went to my storage unit today after 4 days away, and noticed my trailer had lost power. The fridge temp was 80F. Fortunately, I only had beverages, margarine and some bbq sauce in the fridge, so my losses were minimal, but had me concerned about food safety, i.e., just because the fridge temp is safe when you leave and when you return, doesn't mean it's been safe the whole time you were away.

One that could notify you immediately by text would be ideal but probobly cost prohibitive.

2) My fridge generates quite a bit of heat, so much so that the temp inside the stored trailer can get as high as 120F in Florida. Open up the windows and doors and get the fan blowing and it will drop to 90 or so.

Anyway, the manufacturer only installed an exterior small side vent to the rear of the fridge. There is probably less than 6 cf of space under and behind the fridge. I'd like to install and small extraction fan in the vent, that can run forever.

Thanks in advance for the help!

JPM, I don't know about the monitor for remote operation.
The thing that came to mind on ventilation was a greenhouse fan with a thermostat. How about something like 1/2 down pg 1?

First thing that came to my mind was using a stoker to monitor your fridge temp if WiFi is available to you there. Set the alarm to the hottest you would want your fridge to get to. or this http://www.temperaturealert.com/Temperature-Alarm.aspx

JPM, I was checking on the status of my ThermoPen and saw this.
It might work, if connected to a laptop or a computer.

This one sounds like just what your looking for.

sounds spendy but a couple cases of meat ruined and it would pay for it's self.
