Been raising some quail and finally was able to get a couple for myself after pre orders were filled.

Somebody told me that a long time ago.
But I sure can't remember HER name. She was an avid hunter though Embarassed

I haven't had quail in ages. Those look killer.

Once apon a time we had tons of quail here in sw fl. then they started spraying for mosquitos- pretty much the end of the quail. I remember as a kid hunting for them with a daisy bb gun. It was not unusual for me to go out in the pine/palmetto thickets & get enough to feed a family of 6 kids in an hr. or two. DAMN Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

They are better than chicken and you can grill one up in about 12 minutes.

I have been raising them. I have 102 on the ground now and almost another 100 in the incubator.

Jess, another problem with the quail population is the protection of the sand hill cranes. The cranes love quail eggs and since they are ground birds their eggs are easy prey.

And of course the biggest problem is that their fav. habitat is high pine/ palmeto areas, which is the Fl. developers fav. Not knocking development but there has to be a limit somewhere JMHO... Twisted Evil
