I made the mistake of picking up a bag of True 'Cue lump from Home Depot back in May.

It was closer to chips than lump.

I'm used to having some small pieces fall through the chimney, but this was the worst I had ever seen.

There were so many small pieces, it choked itself out and took forever to get going and had an awful thick grey almost black smoke. The picture doesn't do it justice. It looked like I was burning tires.

Once it finally did get going, it popped and sparked like the 4th of July.

I definitely won't be buying this again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Brandon, thanks for the Heads Up.
That is some nasty lookin' stuff.
I've bought junk before, but nothing like that. Shocked
Did you write a review on the HD website to warn others?

The "True 'Cue" looks a lot better than that "BBQ King", but clearly they're both pretty bad. No Royal Oak in your areas? I've never gotten a (Made in USA) bag that was that shattered...

btw, BurningDesireBBQ, that Weber chimney looks like it has more miles on it than the Voyager 1 spacecraft - which left our solar system about 6 years ago Laughing

Cheers!

day_trippr, I found this at a freight salvage store. For the price I figured WTF, I'll try it.
Needless to say, I still had to go to WM and get some RO. Wink

day_tripper, Wal-Mart does have RO here, and that's what I normally use. I just saw this at HD and decided to give it a shot. That old chimney is probably 8 or 9 years old. I actually just replaced it.

Jarhead, I hadn't thought to post a review on HD's site, but now that you mention it I do need to do that. And I think day_tripper is right, that "BBQ King" may be even worse than the True 'Cue!
