I finally have my Lang tandem 84 and need to get it fitted out before my final HD inspection on the 11th.
I'm going to enclose the front end only and roof the whole thing with corrugated tin.
Onto my overboard concerns:
I plan on putting 7/16th OSB under the tin roof.
Is the OSB needed under the roof? Will the tin sheets hold my weight (190 lbs) without it?
7/16th OSB under the outside siding boards.
I'm doing this mainly for more anchor points
7/16th OSB under the FRP on the inside.
I'm doing this mainly for more anchor points
2" foam bat insulation between the OSB layers
I'm trying to keep it climate controlled as much as possible with a small window AC. I also plan on using it during the winter months.
Tyvek type house wrap between the OSB and siding boards
Since I'm using beveled cedar siding I thought this would help.
I know this isn't a building forum so I am not expecting definitive answers but just thought I throw this out there to see if there is any advice.

That is gonna be one heavy SOB. Shocked

I just reskinned my ramp and put 1/4" OSB and FRP on it. It's still heavy.

Before, it was 3/4" CDX. I couldn't lift it. It took all that two people could do to get it back up.

Why are gonna be on top of the roof?
What are you framing it with? Mine is 1" square tubing. Metal siding outside, 1" foam insulation and FRP on the inside. The ceiling is done the same way. The exception is, of course, the ramp.
I need to go weigh mine when I get it done. It should be fairly light for a vending trailer.

It's already heavy... 8000lbs.
Being on top of the roof...? I don't know, just thinking ahead. Other than actually installing it, I really don't see a need to be up there other than future repairs.
It is already framed with 2" tubular steel. I just have to skin it.

If you need the insulation value, then use insulation! Cool

Otherwise, skin the roof with the tin.

2" steel is already overkill, but of course the tin panels will not support your weight between them.................

Yeah... I think I'll be glad I added the insulation in the long run.
The roof section is framed with only 1/2 tubular steel. It's the wall framing that's done in the 2", still overkill though.

I'd love to see some pics of these builds as I am in the process of building my own.
