I am currently reading Big Bob Gibson's cookbook and in the pictures is shows the pit they have on site. im wondering what kind of pit it is and where i can find plans to build one. Its a long stationary pit with the firebox on one end and doors on the top. It looks like a long table almost. any help would be great thanks. |

Sounds like an off-set to me. Do a search for the build. You will probably end up with a bunch of them. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411

Johnny and heavymand are right its a brick pit that is fairly long with metal lids. the fire is usually at one end which allows them to cook directly over it or cook indirect at the other end of the cooking chamber. they go through some wood, their wood pile is the size of my back yard. |

Well i was thinking of building something like that, but a lot smaller, on my concrete patio out back but i dont want to have to keep a ton of wood around every year. I guess ill keep looking for some other design. |
