This came up when a couple of friends and I were talking. For those of you that use a charcoal caddy, do you dump the charcoal in it, or do you just place the open bag of charcoal in?
I just place my open bag in it to keep the moisture out of the bag. |

| I always put the whole bag in, less mess that way...plus I like to keep my blow torch in there and a roll of paper towel, tongs etc. |

| Besides I pull the bag out and dump it, I hate digging pieces out. |

| When I'm smoking I take the bag out of the caddy and leave it on the shelf under the smoker. I don't put it back in until I'm done. When it's time to add more charcoal to the firebox, I put on a glove and throw in a handful or two. |

Yeah I only dump first, if I add more I scoop it by hand...I made the mistake to dump once and got charcoal dust all over my food! |
