I have a 16x40 Lyfe Tyme smoker. I had almost 100 F difference in temp from the firebox end to the stack end. I tried 1/8" sheet metal and it made little difference. I then went to 1/4"-3 inch flat steel and now there is only 10 degrees difference. So, if you have this problem buy a 6 foot piece of steel and use a chop saw to make quick works of it. Cut you a card board pattern to get length right.  |
