Thanks folks.
Unless something's changed very recently,
I'm still situated right in tne center of the richest vegetable
& fruit producing area on earth.
In a month or so I'll post pics from a short field trip to a place
called Davis Ranch.
Home of "Sloughhouse sweet corn"
When you drive into the place, you go over a small rise
& drop down maybe 75 ft. in elevation......into an alluvial valley
(the riverbed overflowed into the area for 1000's of years).
The soil produces corn that's so sweet, you can eat it raw off the cob
& it's better than most any way it could be cooked.

What's killin' me tho is the weather.
Yesterday was 62° & overcast. Rain the day before that.
I can't get a garden in edgewise !!! If & when I do' I'm going to
attempt to grow GIANT zucchinis to make rice boats out of
~~>Wish me luck

I was in California in the mid 80s with my parents visiting relatives.
I think I was about 16 or so. My relatives at the time lived in Novato.

What a beautiful area. In fact based on pictures, the entire west coast is awesome!

We toured the area quite a bit. Went to the Sonoma Valley for wine tasting.
Toured SFO. Great city.
I think one of my cousins currently lives in Sacramento.

I remember the temperature didn't get above the low to mid 70's, and it was August. Very comfortable for us northerners.Cool

It was an unforgettable trip.
