Ive cooked on my kettle numerous times using the minion method with my fire pushed against the side of my kettle with fire bricks. I usually just put meat on the top grill grate. Has anyone put meat down on the charcoal grate next to the bricks? Would love to make that space useful!

Large turkeys~~~~~>but then I don't use the upper grate
so it kinda defeats the two space idea....

I have put yams & sweet potatoes down in, wrapped in foil, with stuff on the upper deck.
Recently fixed up a MacGyver UPPER deck (going the other direction ....)

HFG the power of the ring blows that piece of tin away. 12 hrs on 4 lbs of lump is the deal.
