Most of us are fortunate in that Memorial weekend symbolizes the start of summer, the weekend that pools all over our great nation open and kids splash around with riotous laughter while their parents kick back with a cold beverage, relaxing not thinking of the office or whatever problems confront their lives. Yes, we are fortunate. We could be living under the harshness of a totalitarian regime, or the dire miserable conditions of communism, or worse yet living the daily realities of a ruthless dictator. No we do not live this way. We don't live in those horrid conditions because of those that have fought for freedom and paid the supreme price on the field of honor. You are forever in my heart and I pass this gratitude to the heart of my children. To you…you are not and will not be forgotten.....now open those pools.

Got 20 folks coming over today...couple nice briskets.

Stuff for injecting and Stubbs rub.

A bunch of drumsticks.

Sauce for the drummies.

Sit in the fridge until time to grill'em up.

And a little extra sauce for glazing.

Some wings!

Will hook this up on the grill later.

Briskets on the smoker.

Nice hunks of meat.

Got the umbrella at the ready in case of rain.

Assistant smoker on duty.

My travel humidor. Meats on so its time to fire up a cigar and think of friends no longer with us.

Cigars, lighter, and a cutter.

Cool fold up cutter.

Will keep you posted. Enjoy your day my friends.

Those are some nice lookin' briskets you got there jeepdad. I tried wings and they did not turn out so hot, I will be interested in seeing your pic's later. I would also like to second your comment to the soldiers of the U.S. Military. As a former U.S. Army Infantryman I know these people are putting it all out there so that we can live the way we do. Thank you to all of you that serve to protect our special way of life you are the best.
