lol Laughing I'd have to add 5+ feet deep of a ocean pier post with that also.

Being serious cherry is very rich. From every site I have read walnut is super strong and smoky. Never seen a vendor that sells it though.

If your talking commercially available stuff i would have to say hickory.
If your wanting something a little less over bearing i would go with oak and even supplement it with some cherry. The oak makes for a nice smoke ring and the cherry is a great flavor.
