As I was browsing through their reviews, I noticed a lot of them were written in 2005 or earlier. Just curious to see if you folks think these old reviews still reflect the product as they are today. _________________ Greg |

I can't say ALL of their reviews as I haven't tried all of their Charcoal but I have tried a few of them and they were good.
At the least you could narrow down the field of what you'd like to try and not try. _________________ AD1 (AW) Ret

I think it really depends on the brand. I wouldn't mind seeing updated reviews on some of the older 2005 and earlier stuff. I would imagine some stuff has improved since then, and some stuff may have gone down hill. |

The site is not a full time business obviously, and they don't invest a great deal of effort on a day to day basis.
I think the site is a great resource, and you can always go to the reader's reviews for each brand to get more info.

Some of the lump charcoal brands listed on TNW's site are no longer offered for sale (Picnic brand lump, BBQ-Pro brand lump, and New Braunfels Mesquite brand lump are several examples). It would be nice if such charcoal reviews were placed in an archive section with a seperate link.
I agree the site is a great resource and I find my own experiences not always matching TNW's probably since I don't own or use a ceramic cooker. This is where the reader ratings are somewhat helpful as they come from folks using all sorts of cooker designs. When I post a reader review of my experience, I include the cooker design(s) I used the lump with and my corresponding results. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!
