Pretty much forced into using RO and it does a decent job. Only thing available locally (Cowboy doesn't count Wink ). Phasing out my stash of Stubbs. Really want to give the WG a try, but nearest dealer is over 200 miles away Shocked, so would have to add an extra $80 to the cost. SIGH!!!

Order it off the WG web site and would be about the same in shipping as gas money.

Cheers

Not a bad idea, but if I'm going to spend the money, I'm gonna get a roadtrip out of it, too Laughing . Looking in that direction for some wood sources also. Cool

Get a 55 gallon barrel and make a burn barrel and make your own lump from oak . Much better than that bought stuff. Pkerchef

I had the same experience in my UDS. Very easy and consistent, but lots and lots of ash with the RO briquettes.

Is Weekend Warrior so much better than RO American lump that its worth $20.00 Shocked for 22#? I think I will stick with RO. Any thoughts on these two brands?
That depends... What are you paying for RO?
RO is pretty good stuff and if it is free, then that's all I'd use. If the price split between the two is just a few dollard for a 20 pound bag, then I'd use the WG.

I purchase the Lazzarai Mesquite lump charcoal at Cash+Carry here in the west. Its $13.50/40lbs and burns longer and hotter than other lump that i have tried, IMO. Right around the 4th of July it goes on sale for $10 and change... Shocked

Do you mind if I ask where you got the Lazzarai? That sounds interesting. I would be willing to some info for info... Wink

Just look up Cash+Carry, they have 4-5 locations around the metro area.

I have used both.
Right now I am using WG because a local dealer went out of business a had a deal on it. WG does have a longer burn time because it is a dencer lump than RO. I really can't tell much differentance in the flavor of the two.
IMHO I would go with RO due to the higher cost in getting WG. It good but for me not good enough to justify the cost.

My 2 cents[/img]
