M.F.U. prepping / cooking on board

I had strongly considered a MFU in Jacksonville when I was there. I moved to Charleston and all that changed. Best of luck.

Is your MFU for catering or do you plan on setting up somewhere on a regular basis?

My friend owns (or will own when grandpa decides to sell) Archie's Bar. Next to Tire Country. Pretty much on the corner of Lejuene Blvd. and Western.

Also have a few other contacts outside the city limits. On Piney Green road.

Was goin to call the H.D. today and get things straight but they is outta the office today.

When did ya leave J'ville?

I was in Jacksonville close to three years ago. It was just a resting spot between 6 years on Harkers Island and going on 3 years in Charleston.

Great spot you're considering. Also, Britt Motorsports would be a good partner if you could think of a promotion.

There is alot of business to be had in that town...and not much in the way of great bbq...well, not much in the way of bbq at all.

I know a consultant in the area that was a long time health inspector for Onslow. He's in business and will charge you but if you get too frustrated, I'll be glad to track down his contact info.

Not sure how familiar you are with J'ville and surrounding areas. But Smithfields Chicken and BBQ has a handhold in this area. But. The closest one to my possible location is on the other side of town. Other then that......that's it.

I have been talking with the Regional H.D. person...They don't understand as well.

Is the Smithfield's still on Western? They were the last time I was through there, but that's been 2.5 years ago. That's not exactly on the other side of town (3 minutes away from the location you pointed out). Wait...did that one close? Is the one on Gum Branch the only one now?

Smithfield's has the town sewn up because they are the only game in town pretty much.

Over off of Catherine Lake there Thig's (never went...never wanted to) and Oakwood. Oakwood is great if they are still alive. Cooking and selling bbq down a dirt drive in the backyard of a private home...gotta love it. It's traditional (whole hogs over coals). Wish I had some right now.

Mr. Morris...what a nice guy. If you think about it, tell him Jay & Hedy said hello (If he doesn't remember the names, tell him Hedy is the Caribbean girl with long black hair that worked at the hospital...he'll remember that...everyone remembers that).

Mr. Monty that worked around there with Mr. Morris was a hoot! Hope they are doing well.
