Good post Oregon Smoker. I have to agree that this is one of the most friendly and helpful sites on the interwebs. As a newb, I felt I was warmly welcomed and my questions answered with great enthusiasm by people genuinely wanting to pass along their knowledge. I browse/am a member of a few other sites for different hobbies, and most of the members seem to enjoy getting into pissing matches with other members. What's the point in that?
And a big THANK YOU to Garry for hosting this site and to SoEzzy for putting up with us [/b] _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

Since we don't know exactly who and where this complaint originated I was wondering if it had anything to do with the picture posting size limit as it seems more people get their knickers twisted over this than anything else. I personally don't like having to click the URL's to go offsite to see pictures, but that's just me. If that don't bother you then that's fine. We can agree to disagree on that point. |

| I am no stranger to forums. I have been involved with stone industry forums as member/moderator/administrator for 14 years now. About 2 years ago I ventured into smoke forums when I was building my smoker. I was on several boards at first. This was/is the friendliest and I have stuck with this one and one other for my pellet grill questions. While building my smoker, the help here was phenominal. I received many posts and even PM's with phone numbers attached. This is truly, in my eyes, the best BBQ site out there. Keep up the great work |

i love the whole pic thing there is always something new goin on this quarter it happens to be pic are to big i'll tell you that the site has become a lot better since SE has been killing the over sized pics. i have been dealing with SE for a couple years now can he be blunt sure he can can he be helpful even more so but lately the pic thing is getting old. Garry needs to fix the site if i know it needs to be done then im sure he does too. what it boils down to is that this is Garry's site he will fix it when he can or wants to. what i think would and could make this site a little user friendly is another section right after the introduction section and before the general discussion section. we could call it New To Que? (or something like that) in this section you could do something like this
how to size your pics 101
how to use the sites search option 101
pork butt 101 (link to jeepdads step by step pork butt post)
spare ribs 101
babybacks 101
foil 101
3-2-1 101
brisket 101 (links to a couple proven users step by step brisket cooks)
chicken 101 (links to spachcocked beercan or whatever)
add a few more maybe a food temp guide then lock that section down the new users can post reply on the threads to keep them alive and up to date _________________ Club Disco
