I aquired a tank from a friend, cut the door, burned it out, found a trailer and started building, I did find a ton of useful information on the forums here and want to thank everyone for posting your problems and solutions, formulas, opinions, builds, etc. I have been cooking a bit on it and it works perfectly, it is a reverse flow ( my first revers flow build too) and I absolutaly love it. So much in fact that I am looking for materials to build another one for a friend.

I have added some length and a propane smoker (to use as a warming box only) and will be adding a wood box this weekend.

There was smokey PMPNLT650pxOTLS!

PLEASE DON'T POST PICTURES MORE THAN 650px ON THE LONGEST SIDE!

Next one will loose the pictures completely and the one after that will pick up a ban, is there anyone out there, paying attention to what they are being told?

Not trying to be offensive - I truly enjoy this forum and am grateful for your work - can't something be done about this arbitrary limitation? Why is this the only forum with this problem?

Yes something can be done:

1) Posters could learn to post smaller pictures.

2) The forum could be updated to a newer version and additional modifications could be added that do all the picture resizing automatically, a time consuming job, that would have to be done for free, by Garry, negating using that time to do something else.

3) Similar but different modifications could be added to the existing framework, so that those posters who can't learn to post smaller pictures, can post what ever size they want and have thumbnails produced of all pictures, so you would still have to click on the picture to see the bigger version.

4) We could also add different modifications to the board that fixes the width and doesn't allow the site format to break, and that rejects pictures that are too big.

There are many things that could be done, funnily enough one of the simplest is to get people to use pictures not bigger than 650 px on the longest side, as it doesn't involve any work to be done on the back end, so maintaining the nature of the forums with the least cost.

So if you are prepared to click on the picture to get the bigger image, how come some are having troubles clicking on the link to see the bigger picture, or sizing their pictures before uploading them?

The nice folks that pay to advertise on this site to help keep it free to those that use it, like you and me.........would hate to have their ads pushed off the page for a pic of the very item they want to fuel or sell.

You know what this was my very first post, no replies no constructive comments, just fussing about my pic size, I just posted the image link from photobucket, it seemed to work fine until it was killed. Tell you what, I will stop posting pics too big.

Some constructive comments for you!

Picture 1 was blurry... and too big.

Picture 2 was blurry, taken in poor light... and was too big.

I quite liked picture 3, clear and shot with the light behind you, it was a well proportioned picture, framed in a good fashion by the garages, the fence line and the driveway, all in all a worthwhile image... but still too big.

So I'm not going to go on about them all individually, I'm very grateful that you are not going to post big pictures any more! Wink Laughing Wink

The link contains useful advice about how to change settings to get the job done, if you are interested.

I won't argue about which came first this post or the other post I linked the images from, but I gave a warm welcome, if you don't like it, I'm sorry this part of the world, isn't being run the way your wish list had it thought it was going to be!

I'm also sorry that I've let my sarcastic tongue / fingers run away with me!

Yeah you are a little carcastic, I said I would post smaller pics, as far as the blurry pics, I didn't have my nikon handy so I snapped those in low light with my phone. I will be sure to check the quality and photshop out any blemishes. Actually I have a much MUCH simpler solution. I will stop posting anything at all and only use the forum for information, It is a WONDERFUL resource for information and I have actually been using it for that purpose for quite a while. My mistake was thinking that it was a smart idea to join up and contribute so I and I alone can correct that mistake.

Funny thing is, if everyone stopped posting you wouldn't have to have that pesky problem of users resizing pics or upgrading the site.
