I'm going to Southern CA Easter weekend. My first stop will be Fat Burger. Most people rave about In 'n' out but I found it boring. Next stop will be some Santa Maria style BBQ at The Hitching Post . Past that not quite sure where I'd find some good Que. Some mexican street food will also be on the agenda. Anyone have any suggestions _________________ Big Booty Que, outlaw BBQ at it's best... |

Mr G. Sonora style mexican food in Yuma, Az if you take that route. Unlike most anyplace else. Sour cream starts entering the picture once you hit the SoCal border, thats a no no. Mexican street food in Baja is an expereince if you dare pass thru Tijuana, Rosarito is a blast. _________________ Backyarder

| If you're heading north on the 101 past the hitching post up to San Luis Obispo you will find my all time favorite place for a tri tip sandwich...FIRESTONE GRILL! Best Tri Tip sandwich I've ever had. There's another place in town called Mo's Smokin' BBQ which is definitely a great place for ribs and brisket but if you pass through SLO and don't get a firestone tri-tip sandwich with their bbq sauce you will be doing yourself a disservice. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. |

My best spot is the Bear Pit in Mission Hills Ca. Its in the north end of the San Fernando Valley near the 405 and 118 freeways. Been there for over 50 years and would go there as a child and still do. Another one is Dr. Hogley wagley in Van Nuys. Hope this helps

| Have to disagree about the Bear Pit. Don't even find it edible I do like Hogly wogley tho. For the best bbq in socal you have to Compton and go to Bludso's. If you want a little safer neighborhood try Baby Blues in Venice. |
