I'm a fan of the OLD ORIGINAL Dragnet, and while watching last night I heard the "SECRET" recipe that Bill Gannon used for his BBQ sauce!

Now, like he said, listen good!

You start off with a good sized bowl. Chill the bowl, and then dump in 1 quart ketchup. Then mix it all up really good. Mix the ketchup all up.

Then add 1 can red pepper, 1 can hot mustard, 1 quart vinegar, 1 pound peeled and chopped red peppers, 1 small jar of oregano, 4 or 5 good sized cloves of garlic, and then mix really good with an electric mixer.

While mixing add 5 chopped Bermuda onions.

Now, according to Bill Gannon, this is what gives the sauce the "hard to tell what's in it effect"... This is also why you need a big bowl... Add 1 quart vanilla ice cream!

Anyone up for trying this recipe? Candis and I are considering it! Laughing Laughing

Charlie

Ya know what's funny? I'm about half tempted to try it just to say I did!

Now, ask me tomorrow when the Crown has worn off and we'll go from there...

BUT, as long as I put it on the meat FAST and while it's HOT I should be ok with the milk product! It is pasteurized ya know! Laughing

Charlie

I may still try it! Shocked

Man, I love me some Dragnet too. Gannon BBQ sauce sounds like a recipe for upset stomach with the ice cream.

Remember when he used that fishing tackle box for a lunch box? Now there's a guy that comes prepared...

I'm half tempted to try it-minus the ice cream. I don't sound all that bad, I just may have to 'tweak' the quantities Wink
